How to Make a Tilt Up Real Estate Video

Ceiling height is hard to show in a still photo and easy to show in motion. A tilt starts at eye level and lifts the buyer's gaze to the thing the listing is proud of.

What the tilt up does

You stand still and tip the camera upward, from eye level to the ceiling. Dramatize ceiling height, reveal detail.

Tips upward. Swivel upward. Inside the app, every move also has a 3D preview of the rig and the exact photo map it asks for.

The direction and feel of tilt up, drawn on one sample photo — not a rendered clip. Villenza builds the real clip from your own three photos, opening on the first and landing on the last.

Best rooms for a tilt up

  • Vaulted and double-height ceilings
  • Exposed beams
  • Tall windows and clerestories
  • Chandeliers and staircases

The 3 photos to take

Take them in one visit, in the same light. The first photo is where the clip opens and the last is where it lands, so shoot them in the order the camera should travel.

  1. 1

    Eye level

Straight ahead at standing height — this is the opening frame.

  2. 2

    Part way up

Same spot — angle up about halfway, catching the tops of the walls and windows.

  3. 3

    Look up

Same spot — angle right up and photograph the ceiling, beams or upper windows. This is where the tilt finishes.

Tips for a better tilt up

  • Start at eye level, looking straight ahead.
  • Keep your feet and the phone's position fixed — change only the angle.
  • Finish on the ceiling feature, not on bare plaster.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Rising onto your toes as you tilt — that makes a slide, not a tilt.
  • A ceiling photo exposed for the bright windows, so the rest goes dark.
  • Tilting in an ordinary 8-foot room with nothing overhead to see.

Not sure your photos will work? The AI Listing Planner reads a folder of photos, picks the move each room can support, and says what to re-shoot when a set won't work.

Questions

How many photos does a tilt up need?

3 photos of the same room: first eye level, then part way up, last look up. Take them in one visit in the same light — the tilt up opens on the first and lands on the last.

When is a tilt better than a slide up?

Tilt when the feature is overhead — beams, a skylight, a chandelier — and you want to look up at it. Slide up when you want to rise past a tall wall of windows while keeping the view level.

Is the tilt up included on every Villenza plan?

Yes — the tilt up, like every swivel move, is on every plan at the same 720p HD output; plans differ only in listings per month.
