The peninsula sells the historic house, the piazza and the walk; Mount Pleasant sells the marsh view, the porch, the schools and the newer construction; Daniel Island sells the community and the golf; the islands sell the beach and rental potential. Buyers ask about elevation, flood insurance and the roof.

Rules worth checking
South Carolina's disclosure statement applies. The Board of Architectural Review regulates peninsula exteriors; OCRM rules govern docks and setbacks on the marsh and the beach. Flood zones cover most of the region — the flood-zone guide applies. Airspace near the airport and the Air Force base restricts drones north of the city.
